Forbidden Barbès

I shot this surprising pic, sunday night, in the subway.
On all the screens, in every stations, on all the lines, anyone could read this message:

If I remember well, I never saw any Paris subway station closed to the public for “security reasons”, especially when these “reasons” are only related to a Football match ! Want to know why Barbès was not open to anybody yesterday night ? Just because Algeria team won their last game against Rwanda, and so, is now really close to be qualified for the World Cup. Since 1982, Algeria wasn’t able to qualify for the greatest Football event in the world. So it was easy to understand why the Paris Algerian community was so proud this sunday. But the way they demonstrated their pride and happiness seemed to be judged differently by the government, welcoming them with cops and CRS everywhere, and closing Barbès “for security reasons” !

If by any chance, French team also qualify for the World Cup, I can’t imagine how the city will look like if they have to play against Algeria next summer…
